Bridget chose to publish this book herself, as Guru Beant Press, a division of You Can Do It! Productions, so she could have as much creative control as possible in bringing this book into the world. As she visualized how loved The Story of the Infinipede would be in the world, she realized a lot of trees might be used in the making of the pages, so she has done her best to find papers to print on that are recycled, or even better, made from post-consumer waste. "Post consumer waste" means it contains paper that someone used and then brought it to be recycled. Do you recycle? Maybe something of yours is part of the book? It is challenging to choose the best materials that have the gentlest impact on the ecosystems of the Earth. Bridget considered the materials used, the processing they go through, whether bleaches or other chemicals are used, and more, and then did the best her budget would allow. On her next book, and future printings of The Story of the Infinipede, the author intends to use even more Earth friendly resources and techniques.

The author is involved with a group called Simple Living Institute, Inc. that is dedicated to demonstrating, teaching and researching organic farming methods, wellness and sustainable living.

Sustainability means when you make a choice, you look at the long range effects on the environment. The members of Simple Living Institute, Inc. grow their food using only organic methods, and through time they make the soil richer, rather than depleting it or ruining the surrounding environment with chemicals. The villagers of Snoo in The Story of the Infinipede are also organic farmers, and they even use natural bug spray made of essential oils when they protect their bodies from insect bites!

The Infinipede and Sally McGlow asked the author to please donate a portion of her profits to The Simple Living Institute, Inc. so when you buy the book, you are helping educate the world about how to live in harmony with the planet! Hooray for you. Thank you.
